The Enterprise Software Revenues Increase 8.5% Last Year

The Enterprise Software Revenues Increase 8.5% Last Year

According to a recent report made by market research firm Gartner titled "the Market Share Analysis: 2010 Global enterprise software", the global enterprise software revenue in 2010 reached 245 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.5% of 2009. The revenue growth proved the global enterprise software market is recovering and expanding after 2.5% of revenue decrease in 2009.

Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, SAP and Symantec are the top 5 enterprise software company in the world. The five companies' combined market share reaches 50.2%.

Microsoft continues to maintain its leadership in the enterprise software market, accounting for 22.4% market share, whose revenue reached 540 billion dollars, an increase of 6 billion dollars. Gartner attributed this growth to the wild use of Windows 7 and Office 2010.

IBM ranked the second though its overall market share declined slightly to 10.4%. Gartner pointed out that if the sales of Microsoft's Office software suite and operating systems were not included, IBM would rank the first.

Among the top 25 software companies, VMware, who achieved 41% growth rate in last year, adobe with 29%and Salesforce with 28% are the other outstanding companies,

The growth rate of the top 25 software companies in the last year surpassed 11.5% and their revenues exceeded 165 billion US dollars, accounting for nearly 68% of the entire market share.
